Fortnite's Rise of Midas Quests: A Golden 2026 Retrospective Guide
Fortnite Rise of Midas quests: hunt gold, infiltrate the Marigold Yacht, and expose Brutus in Chapter 5 Season 2's golden questline.
In 2026, Fortnite Island has traded golden touches for whatever fresh chaos Epic Games has cooked up, but the ghost of King Midas still rattles his jeweled chains. Back in Chapter 5 Season 2, Midas escaped Hades' prison, rose from the underworld, and dragged players into a multi-part questline called Rise of Midas. The event ran until April 2, 2024, which means modern players cannot earn its original rewards in normal playlists anymore. Still, for historians of all things gilded, the quest list remains a shiny little time capsule. Midas, being Midas, did not simply break out and send a polite thank-you note. He recruited allies, suspected traitors, and parked a giant yacht east of Grim Gate. The Marigold Yacht became a floating hub for several quests, while other tasks sent players sprinting across the map for gold bars, mythic weapons, and the occasional divine banana.

Midas Rises Quests
The first section is a three-stage appetizer. Midas wants players to gather gold, poke around his old jail cell below Hades' Throne Room, and have a cozy chat with Marigold through the Scrying Pools. No sweat, right? The man escaped death itself, so of course his errands involve ghostly mirrors and Olympian real estate.

| Stage | Quest | XP |
|---|---|---|
| Stage 1 of 3 | Collect 200 Gold Bars | 10K |
| Stage 2 of 3 | Investigate Midas' Jail Cell, located below Hades' Throne Room | 10K |
| Stage 3 of 3 | Corroborate with Marigold on Midas' Escape through the Scrying Pools | 10K |
The remaining two quests in this batch are:
| Quest | XP |
|---|---|
| Damage players with Chains of Hades or a Harbinger SMG for 750 damage | 10K |
| Hit an Olympian Boss such as Zeus, Ares, Hades, or Cerberus with Chains of Hades | 10K |
Et Tu, Brutus? Quests
Because nothing says friendship like secret surveillance, Midas suspects Brutus is a traitor. The questline asks players to hire specialists, buy from Midas Vending Machines or Service Stations, and scan the Marigold for recording devices. It is a golden soap opera with extra paranoia.
| Quest | Guide | XP |
|---|---|---|
| Hire Specialists in different matches | In three different matches, hire one of the recruitable NPCs around the map | 10K |
| Purchase from Midas Vending Machines or Service Stations | Purchase an item or weapon upgrade three times across three separate matches | 10K |
| Scan the Marigold for recording devices | Visit the Marigold Yacht, head inside to the lower deck, and activate the scanner in the hallway | 10K |
Once those are done, a new quest tells players to confront Brutus. They can do that by using one of the Scrying Pools to contact him. Cue dramatic music.
Jules Vs. The Golden Touch
This section mixes River Styx violence with weapon modding. The first quest has three stages:
| Stage | Quest | XP |
|---|---|---|
| Stage 1 of 3 | Deal 300 damage to opponents while under the effects of The River Styx | 10K |
| Stage 2 of 3 | Hit structures at Grim Gate to collect a Jar of Essence | 10K |
| Stage 3 of 3 | Deliver the Jar of Essence to Jules | 10K |
The remaining two quests are:
| Quest | XP |
|---|---|
| Mod three weapons at Mod Benchs | 10K |
| Eliminate five players with fully modded weapons | 10K |
Myths of Midas
Midas loves a good legend, especially one where he is the star. This batch sends players after Drum Guns, top placements, gold bars, and a Banana of the Gods.
| Quest | Guide | XP |
|---|---|---|
| Damage players with Midas' Drum Gun or Drum Guns | Buy a Drum Gun from Shade Midas or find one on the map, then deal 750 damage | 10K |
| Place top 50 players without consuming healing items | Finish in the top 50 without using healing items, including food and bandages | 10K |
| Eliminate an opponent within 10 seconds of collecting bars | Collect any amount of bars, then eliminate an opponent including NPCs and bosses | 10K |
| Consume a Banana of the Gods | Find a Banana of the Gods anywhere on the map and consume it | 10K |
The Great Marigold Yacht Heist

The final batch arrived on March 28, 2024, and it turned the Marigold Yacht into a stage for chaos. Players blew up fuel pumps, chased golden chickens, honked car horns at enemies, flew with Wings of Icarus, and robbed trains or captured floating islands. It was a lot, but Midas never did anything quietly.
| Quest | Guide | XP |
|---|---|---|
| Blow up a fuel pump | Visit any gas station on the map and blow up the fuel pump | 10K |
| Catch a Golden Chicken | Find a glowing golden chicken and catch it | 10K |
| Honk a car horn within 10 meters of an enemy player | Get in a car and honk when an enemy is within 10 meters | 10K |
| Travel distance while flying with Wings of Icarus | Travel 1,000 meters using Wings of Icarus | 10K |
| Complete a Train Heist or claim the floating island Capture Point | Ride the train and claim its loot, or claim the Capture Point on the floating island | 10K |

2026 Time Check
By 2026, these quests are no longer live. They ended on April 2, 2024, so latecomers cannot earn the original XP and rewards in normal playlists. That makes the Rise of Midas event a polished relic from Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2, a time when Hades ruled the underworld and Midas refused to stay buried. Epic Games loves recycling its golden boy, though, so nobody should be shocked if Midas pops up again in a future season, event, or throwback mode. The man has a dramatic streak wider than the Marigold's hull. Long story short: this questline was a 2024 treasure chest of tasks, and this guide is the golden receipt for anyone revisiting it in 2026.
